A NY Rant And Trade Idea Tuesday - Ridnour Destination?

Kelenna Azubuike
There is absolutely no truth or rumor to the trade idea I am about to present.  Each Tuesday I will mention a possible Bucks trade, that will almost always:

A)  Help the Bucks more than the other team.

B)  Fit under the cap

C)  Give me an excuse to use the addictively fun Trade Machine on ESPN.

There are some contracts on the Bucks that most will find unmovable, the great thing about the trade machine is it only looks at numbers, it doesn’t remove common sense.

Back to A above for a second.  Have you ever heard the idiots that call in on NY sports radio?  My god.  I have listened to Mike Franscesa and before that Mike and the Mad Dog and these people will call in and suggest:

“YO Mike, how about Pujols, Carpenter, and Holiday for Phil Hughes!  Tell me why the Yanks wouldn’t do that!?!”

Because the Cards wouldn’t do that!  This is why baseball has become so ridiculous, the fans of NY actually expect teams to just send them everything at this point.  Good God NY, get over yourself.

This leads into the next issue, if the NY Knicks would just make a decision already, we could have a better idea of what will happen with Sessions.  Instead, NY is showing some interest in every player out there.  Is it possible that NY knows it cannot be good until it gets one of the elite FAs next year, so they are just trying to stay as revelant as possible by staying in the news?  How can there be reports all over that NY is close to a deal with (Insert player name here), only to have that report squashed the next day?  Somebody has to be leaking these stories from the Knicks, only to retract 24 hours later.  As fans from outside the east coast we will get some payback in football.  The Jets could suck and the Giants will be much worse than people think w/o Burress.

There, that felt good.  Onto my trade.

The Bucks send:

Luke Ridnour 6.5 million, 1year

Fransisco Elson 1.7 million, 1 year

The Warriors send:

Brandon Wright  2.6 million, 1 year

Azubuike  3.1 million, 1 year

Acie Law  2.2 million, 1 year, cannot be traded until August 25th

The piece I really want in the trade in Brandon Wright.  He has a great PER and potential, and with Randolph likely to get more minutes, there is a logjam at the wing and PF for the Warriors.

Chances of this trade – not great.  But, if the Warriors stay healthy this season, they should be in contention for a playoff spot.  It could come to a point where they need PG help if Monta Ellis wears down and Stephen Curry proves to not be a NBA point guard.

Azubuike is a really good throw in for the Bucks, but it isn’t unreasonable that he could be thrown in.  The Warriors already have Maggette, Stephen Jackson, Stephen Curry, Anthony Morrow, to be SGs and wings.

The flexibility that John Hammond was looking for can be utilized here.  The Bucks need to be on the lookout for players who just happen to be in undesirable places.  There is too much talent on the Warriors right now at the wing and there is a logjam.  Their PG situation is not as solid.  Wright is also said to be in Don Nelson’s doghouse, which wouldn’t concern me, a lot of players have made their way into that doghouse.  These are two players that may be getting very limited minutes but would be very good on the Bucks.  These would be two more players to run with Jennings, and the very likely more uptempo style the Bucks will have to utilize for success.

Wrights per 40 minutes stats:

Points/40 18.8

Reb/40  9.1

PER 18.77

Azubuike per 40 minute stats:

P/40 17.4

R/40 5.6

PER 14.74

Free free to hammer the idea, or agree.

For Badger football fans out there, do you think the Badgers can win doube digit games?  I am not so sure.
