With the way game one started it almost got to the point where I would be happy if the Bucks could just prevent it from being a joke. The Bucks ended up fighting back, no big shocker, and closed the gap to 7 until a late third quarter three pushed the lead back to 10. In the fourth quarter the Bucks had a couple of possessions where the lead was at eight and they just could not convert. They missed a couple of threes, had a turnover, they just could not cut the lead down to five. If they got it to five, who knows, but it never got there.
I know there are no moral victories in professional sports, but by getting the lead down to single digits it did feel like one. Which lead me to think, what would I be happy with as a result in this series. Would only a series win be enough to satisfy me? Would pushing the series to seven be enough? Would avoiding a sweep and getting at least one win be enough? Is just getting to the playoffs enough?
While it would be great to move onto the second round I do see a couple of negatives. The Magic or Cavs would be fully healthy and ready, I could see either series getting very ugly. That leaves me with the thought that any result with us getting to game 6 or beyond very satisfying to me. I would really like a scenario where the Bucks can get at least one win at home, two would be even better and if they succumb to the more talented Hawks I do think there are enough positives just getting to that point to view the playoff experience as a whole as “glass half full”.
