The Bucks go back to Atlanta tonight for game 5 of their first round series. With the series now tied 2-2 it is now a best of three where the Bucks must win one game in two tries at Atlanta to win the series. Can they win one?
Games 3 and 4
The games at the Bradley Center were amazing, I was not lucky enough to be at either game, but for all Bucks fans who were, GREAT JOB! On television that atmosphere at the BC came off as electric. In both games the crowd was great from tip to final buzzer and really played a factor in getting the Bucks back into the series.
Along with the crowd the Bucks effort, team play, and coaching made up for the talent differential. It seemed like Atlanta knew they would have troubles in game three and it almost felt like they threw it away before hand, or they thought they could walk in and the Bucks would lay down. We expected game four to be a different game and it was, but to me it really showed that the Bucks can beat Atlanta at home if both teams play well.
3 Games Left
Can the Bucks get one in ATL? If so, which one would they have a better shot at, game 5 or 7? Game 5 would be nice sending the Bucks back to Milwaukee with a chance to close out the series at home but in my opinion the Bucks have a better shot in game 7 for several reasons.
- I think Atlanta is ticked after these two games and will play lights out tonight. Atlanta will have too much for Milwaukee tonight.
- The Hawks have too much of a talent advantage to lose four straight to the Bucks, even if they are immature.
- In Game 7 all of the pressure would be on Atlanta and take away a little of the home court edge.
- Atlanta could have some adjustments for tonight but by game 7 the better coach will win out in the strategy battle and Skiles is much better than Woodson.
Tonight’s game could tell us a lot. What did the two games in Milwaukee effect more? Milwaukee’s confidence? Atlanta’s anger? The Bucks will get Atlanta’s best punch tonight and if they can take this game down to the wire they could lose a game but win a psychological battle. If Atlanta can play at its best and Milwaukee still hangs around the young Hawk players will get frustrated. Maybe frustated enough to blow a game 7 at home.
