Were the Bucks Better Off Losing a Close Series?

I hope some fellow Bucks fans had a chance to see any of the Hawks-Magic series.  If you tuned in at almost any point you would have seen the Magic dominating the Hawks by double digits.  The series was so one-sided many “experts” think the chances of Joe Johnson staying in Atlanta have went from a toss-up to no chance at all.  We will see what happens with Johnson.

As a Bucks fan I still cannot decide if a series win over the Hawks would have been worth it if the team got crushed by the Magic.  I could make cases on both sides, it is always good to win a series, but could a four game sweep(all blowouts) do more damage than the first round win did good.  Up for debate.

What if Jennings played horribly against the Magic and lost some confidence leaving him an entire offseason to doubt himself?  What if Ersan and Mbah were totally outclassed and also were left to a summer of doubt?

The former athlete in me says go for it, we would want the chance.  But with as depleted the Bucks were inside I just do not know how they could have kept any game close with the extremely focused Magic.  A big part of the Bucks staying with the Hawks was the Hawks inability to mature and close Milwaukee out as much as the Bucks playing well.

I look forward to the Bucks adding a piece or two and getting the chance next season.
