With the season the Bucks are having a three game winning steak is worthy of the title of a streak. The Bucks had won three straight games where they had a better Effective Field Goal % than their opponents. When the Bucks have shot better than their opponent they have went 16-4. Makes sense, you shoot better than your opponent you win, and the Bucks do win when they are able to shoot well.
That may be the most frustrating part of the loss to the Clippers last night. The Bucks shot a very solid 52.6% EFG which was actually one of the best ten shooting nights they have had all season. The problem was they surrendered over 53% which qualifies as one of their 10 worst defensive performances.
This slight shooting advantage plus a ridiculous 25-27 night from the free throw line from the Clippers was the difference. It is not a crime to lose to the Clippers at their place this year, they are currently on a nine game winning streak. But it is frustrating to think of the Bucks as a defensive team and one of the nights the offense actually shows up, the defense does not.
More bad could come out of this loss as Andrew Bogut is scheduled for an MRI on his knee today. You do not have to follow the Bucks very closely to realize this would be bad for any chance at the playoffs this year, very bad.
