According to multiple reports (see also here), Milwaukee Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova has agreed in principle to sign a three-year contract with Fenerbahce Ulker. The handshake deal is reportedly worth 3.5 million Euros over three years. This story isn’t the first time that Ersan’s name has been linked to the Istanbul club, though, so take all these foreign reports with a grain of salt until the ink on the contract is dry and you see Ersan in a new uniform.
The 6’10” Ilyasova came to the Bucks in 2006, but left after one season to play with FC Barcelona. He returned to the Bucks in 2009, signing a three-year $7 million contract. One year on that contract still remains, but with the NBA in lockout mode, it appears that like many NBA players, Ilyasova has chosen to look into job openings overseas. For the 2010-11 season, Ilyasova appeared in 60 games for the Bucks, starting 34, while averaging 9.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
