Links: Milwaukee Bucks to Hire Legend Sidney Moncrief; Delfino Set for FIBA Play

Yahoo! Sports: Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Milwaukee is set to hire Sidney Moncrief as an assistant coach. Moncrief, an NBA All-Star and two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year with the Bucks in the 1980s, would replace Kelvin Sampson as the defensive specialist on the staff.  Moncrief has previously served as an NBA assistant coach with the Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors. The Argentinian Basketball Confederation has obtained insurance for its NBA players.  As a result, Carlos Delfino will be playing in this summer’s FIBA Americas tournament alongside Manu Ginobili, Luis Scola, and Andres Nocioni.  The tournament also serves as a pre-Olympic qualifying event for Argentina.  The insurance fee for the quartet looks to be over half a million dollars.

According to accounts, the Confederation would pay $ 543,283 for Scola, Delfino, Ginobili and Nocioni, to which must be added the insurance of the other players.

Sydney Morning Herald:  Andrew Bogut takes a spot as an assistant coach for Australia’s national basketball team as they prepare for September’s matchup with New Zealand in FIBA Oceania.  Milwaukee native Latrell Sprewell and ex-Buck Anthony Mason claim the #1 and #3 spots on the Wisconsin Department of Revenue’s list of the Top 100 delinquent taxpayers. Former Bucks draft pick Joe Alexander has signed to play in Russia with Krasnye Krylya for their upcoming season.
