Andrew Bogut will not be facing off against Patty Mills and the Melbourne Tigers this weekend. While Bogut has revealed his team of choice, the Sydney Kings, insurance issues will keep him off the court — at least temporarily. One Management Group revealed their client’s wishes in a Thursday tweet.
The insurance cost is estimated at $500,000 US for a full NBL season, though the cost may potentially be assumed by the Kings on a game-by-game basis with the risk spread among several insurers. Bogut has three years remaining on a contract with the Milwaukee Bucks that should pay him $40 million, though that figure could change pending the duration and result of the current NBA lockout.
