Milwaukee’s Monta Ellis has been chosen as the NBA’s final Eastern Conference Player of the Week for 2012.

Ellis averaged 21.3 points, 8.3 assists, and an impressive 4.0 steals in three games, including wins over Brooklyn and Miami. He topped out at 30 points in a loss to Detroit Sunday.

Other nominees from the East award included Atlanta’s Al Horford and Jeff Teague, Brook Lopez of Brooklyn, and Detroit’s Will Bynum, who had eight points and five assists in the win over the Bucks.

In addition to playing quite well over the week, Monta compared himself favorably to Dwayne Wade in a team-produced clip taped for the Miami game.

It’s good to see Monta have it all — if only for a week.
