Monday afternoon the NBA released the schedule of the 2013 Las Vegas Summer League, which takes place from July 12-22 at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. The Milwaukee Bucks are one of the 22 teams competing in this seasons’ Summer League. The following is from the NBA’s official release.
The NBA Summer League 2013 in Las Vegas will feature 22 teams competing in a 61-game schedule from July 12-22 at the Thomas & Mack Center and COX Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
This summer’s event will feature the debut of a tournament style schedule that will crown the first ever NBA Summer League Champion on Monday, July 22. Teams will compete in three preliminary round games from July 12-16 before being seeded in a tournament running through the Championship Game on July 22. Each team is guaranteed to play at least five games.
NBA TV will televise a full slate of NBA Summer League games and live game action will also extend across digital platforms. A complete broadcast schedule will be released at a later date.
The Bucks play in three games against the Nuggets, Hornets, and Warriors to determine their seeding and opponent in the brand new tournament style schedule. Milwaukee will play at least 5 games on their schedule, as the tournament is a double-elimination. Below are the game times, dates and locations for the Bucks’ three pre-determined match-ups.
Saturday, July 13th – Bucks vs. Nuggets – 9 PM CT – COX Pavilion – (Game 10)
Sunday, July 14th – Bucks vs. Hornets – 7:30 PM CT – Thomas & Mack Arena – (Game 17)
Tuesday, July 16th – Bucks vs. Warriors – 5:30 PM CT – Thomas & Mack Arena – (Game 29)
This year marks Milwaukee’s seventh annual season participating in the Las Vegas Summer league. In the 2012 Las Vegas Summer League the Bucks finished with a 4-1 record, good enough for 2nd place overall in the final standings. Bucks Forwards John Henson (who was named to the 2012 All-Summer League Team) and Larry Sanders were both members of last years’ team.
John Henson will likely be the headlining member of Milwaukee’s 2013 Summer League team, along with the player(s) the Bucks select in the 2013 NBA Draft on June 27th. Free agents, NBA D-League players ,and un-drafted rookies will make up the rest of the roster.
