Giannis Pads His Stats in Victory Over Croatia

Bucks first round selection Giannis Antetokounmpo had quite the impressive outing Monday in the second round of the U20 FIBA European Championships. Giannis led his Greece squad to a 77-68 win over Croatia with an incredible stat-line of: 12 points (3/8 from the field, 1/4 from three, 5/6 free throws), 15 rebounds, one assist and six (!!!) blocked shots. Giannis played a team high 34 minutes coming off the bench.

Yeah, the kid’s good.

Greece is now 5-0 in the tournament and has clinched a spot in the quarterfinals. Bucks Head Coach Larry Drew was in the building to watch Giannis lead his team to victory. Greece’s next match-up is tomorrow against Montenegro.

Here is a highlight video of the game, courtesy of FIBA Europe, where you can see one of Giannis’ blocks just before the one-minute mark. Click here for a full box-score.

ALSO: Alex Boeder of sat down with Bucks Director of Scouting Bill McKinney, to chat about Giannis’ strengths and weaknesses as a player. It’s a great read for those who are looking to get more familiar with the Bucks new swingman.
