When the Bucks head east to the nation’s capital for a date with the Wizards on Friday night, they’ll be without three key contributors.
Caron Butler, who’s missed the past four games with swelling in his knee, will sit out against the team for which he played from 2005-10. Butler averaged at least 16.9 points per game in each of his four-and-a-half seasons in Washington and was named an All-Star reserve in the 2006-07 season, when he averaged 19.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
He’ll be joined in street clothes by Ekpe Udoh and Zaza Pachulia. Pachulia, nursing a sprained foot, did not make the trip to Washington with the team. Udoh traveled but did not participate in Friday morning’s shootaround as he’s dealing with a sprained ankle. The status of all three for Saturday’s contest against the Nets in Milwaukee is up in the air.
With Udoh out, Ersan Ilyasova will likely make his return to the starting lineup after coming off the bench against Boston and Detroit since returning from injury. He scored 22 points on 8-of-19 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds in 37 minutes Wednesday.
