The Cavaliers Offered The No. 1 Pick For Giannis And No. 2

And believe it or not, the Bucks said no.

So there is very likely some more context to this reported discussion than simply, “Hey, how about your most valuable asset AND your pick for our pick?” But it’s fun to make fun of the Cavaliers – especially when the draft is involved. Can’t fault ‘em for trying, I guess.

While Milwaukee isn’t necessarily opposed to a trade, Giannis is all but untouchable. We know for a fact that they love Jabari Parker – Parker thinks the Bucks are “cool”* – but do they love him enough to make such a drastic move to jump up one spot to grab him? If it requires trading Giannis, no chance. Parker is clearly the apple of the organization’s eye, but “settling” for Andrew Wiggins or Dante Exum (and keeping one of the most valuable young players in the league) is a perfectly acceptable outcome.

*This is kind of like telling your middle school girlfriend you love her, her not feeling the same way and responding with a sheepish “cool” or “thank you”
