With the NBA trade deadline looming on the horizon, how should the Milwaukee Bucks approach potential interest in their players?

Getting a grasp on what exactly the Milwaukee Bucks are going to do in the trade market is never an easy task.

If further proof of that was needed, the Bucks provided it earlier this month when they managed to trade a Miles Plumlee contract that had started to look immovable.

Beyond that though, in recent years Milwaukee’s deals have rarely materialized in line with the players they were rumored to be interested in. At last year’s NBA Trade Deadline, the Bucks were linked with a whole host of moves only to do nothing at all. Greg Monroe stayed put, and the team’s reported interests in Mirza Teletovic and Matthew Dellavedova did translate, but only months later in free agency.

If on the other side of the coin, this year was to be the one when the Bucks ended up linked with very few players, but actually continued to make deals, in many ways it would seem to make sense.

Before we even get to considering what the Bucks may even consider looking for at the deadline, we need to prioritize the value and standing of the players who already have places on their roster.

By dividing Milwaukee’s players up into five distinct categories, let’s take a look at the players who would seem like certainties to remain regardless of interest from elsewhere, all the way through to those who the Bucks should be happy to take whatever they can get on.

Let’s get down to the Milwaukee Bucks’ trade deadline outlook for 2017.
