The Bobcats are arguably the worst defensive team in the NBA, and it was on full display Monday night.

Charlotte, who was missing centers Byron Mullens, Brendan Haywood, DeSagana Diop and point guard Ramon Sessions due to injuries, offered no rim protection and little perimeter resistance for 48 straight minutes. The Bucks took advantage — to the tune of a season-high in points and a 131-102 rout.

Milwaukee scored 69 of its points in the first half on 53.8 percent shooting from the field, but Charlotte couldn’t miss either — connecting on 62.9 percent of their attempts. Yet, the Bucks managed to snag a nine-point lead at halftime, thanks to seven offensive rebounds and nine forced turnovers.

The Bobcats’ hot shooting predictably regressed. They shot just 39.5 percent from the field in the second half. The Bucks, meanwhile, continued their hot shooting and dominated nearly every aspect of the game — eventually running away with it. For the game, Milwaukee attempted 27 more field goals, hit eight more three-pointers, grabbed 13 more rebounds, dished out 14 more assists, and converted 10 less turnovers than Charlotte.

For the second time in three games, Larry Sanders set a career-high in points. He secured another double-double — his fourth in five games — scoring 24 points (11-19 fg, 2-4 ft) and grabbing 13 rebounds (seven offensive) in just 31 minutes.

J.J. Redick scored a season-high 20 points in a Bucks uniform on an efficient 8-12 shooting, including 2-5 from beyond the arc. Joining Sanders and Redick in double figures for Milwaukee were Ersan Ilyasova (22 points, 8-13 fg, 4-4 3pt), Monta Ellis (19 points, 7-14 fg, 3-5 3pt), Brandon Jennings (19 points, 6-15 fg, 4-9 3pt) and Mike Dunleavy (15 points, 8-12 fg, 2-5 3pt).

Kemba Walker and Gerald Henderson led the scoring attack for the Bobcats, combining for 44 points on just 22 shots from the field.

Jennings, who oddly criticized his head coach on Twitter following Saturday night’s loss, sat out the entire fourth quarter and played only 24 minutes in the blowout. His lack of playing time can be interpreted two ways: a) Boylan was sending a message with another benching or b) Boylan, preparing for the stretch run, was simply resting one of his heavy-minutes starters in a blowout. For what it’s worth, Jennings tweeted this after the game:

Great Win. Building for the playoffs!!!! #Bucks

— BRANDON JENNINGS (@justryod3) April 2, 2013

The BMO Harris Bradley Center starting emptying out with Milwaukee’s lead growing to 30 and the game clock mercifully winding down. The remaining fans began chanting, “We want Drew” — a reference to little-used Drew Gooden, who was the only active healthy player to not appear in the game. It served as an incredibly appropriate ending to an unconventional game.

The Milwaukee Bucks (35-37) fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder (54-20) on Saturday night, 109-99. It was the kind of score that many expected.

The Thunder, champions of the Western Conference last season, were expected to easily stroll past the mediocre Bucks. However, they were in for a surprise.

The Bucks gave the Thunder a hard fight throughout the game. Although they trailed by 10 to open the second half, the Bucks had committed just three turnovers in the first half and were playing spirited basketball.

Three Bucks bigs had double-doubles on Saturday night. Ersan Ilyasova led the way with 29 points (12-of-22 shooting) and 15 rebounds. Ekpe Udoh had his first career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Larry Sanders added 12 points and 10 boards.

The Bucks took a five point lead in the third quarter before being closed out by Kevin Durant. With ten games to go, the Bucks have a much brighter outlook than they did two games ago. Monta Ellis, has had a great second half to the season, Udoh and Daniels’ solid contributions tonight could help give them confidence down the stretch, and the front court of Ilyasova and Sanders are collectively playing their best basketball.

However, Brandon Jennings seems to have a problem.

After publicly complaining about not playing in the fourth quarter earlier this week, Jennings also sent out a tweet after the Lakers game.

His body language is sporadic and frustrated on the court. It seems like his mind is already wandering to his departure this offseason via free agency. The Bucks are only 3 games back from the Celtics for the seventh spot in the East. If they want to catch the Celtics, Jennings needs to get on board. Remember when Jennings had four games with 48 assists? He proudly declared that he knew all along he could pass like that, and that people doubted him.

His assist numbers have once again dwindled. Jennings has dished seven assists or less in five of his last six games.

Plain and simple, if the Bucks want to make a strong push for a higher seed and make a run in the postseason, Jennings needs to get on board.

The Bucks will play the Bobcats, T-Wolves, Knicks, Raptors, Heat, Magic, Hawks, Bobcats, Nuggets and Thunder for the remainder of the season. Unfortunately, it looks like the Bucks, realistically will go about 5-5. However, that’s why they play the games. Despite a loss, the Bucks have played inspired basketball. The only thing left is for the team to get everyone on board.

We’re waiting Brandon Jennings. Time’s almost up.
