He loves me:

Sure, Brandon Jennings signed up with a new agent, but when Gery Woelfel said that Jennings’ move was a ploy to work his way to a new deal in a new city, Brandon shot back.

Stop reaching for a story.

— BRANDON JENNINGS (@justryod3) February 7, 2013

He loves me not:

ESPN’s Chad Ford, in a chat, reiterated his earlier report from earlier in the day that Brandon Jennings had ‘irreconcilable differences’ with the Bucks.

In my trade story today, I did write that while the Bucks aren’t shopping Jennings, they may be forced to listen to trade offers. Sources say Jennings has “irreconcilable differences” with the Bucks and is pushing for either a trade now or a toxic offer sheet in the summer. Bucks own his restricted rights this summer so they can’t be totally pushed around. But if Jennings got a big, front loaded offer sheet from a team like the Mavs, the Bucks would have a very hard time matching that and may lose him for nothing. So while I think the Bucks prefer to hold onto him and see what happens this summer, if a good offer came now… they’d have to listen.

He loves me:

Jennings said, “That is not true” about his supposed discontent with the Bucks organization. “That stuff never came out of my mouth.”

— Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) February 13, 2013

He loves me not:

In the follow-up story by Broussard, he asserts that Jennings turned down a 4-year, $40 million contract extension over the summer.

The Bucks offered Jennings a four-year, $40 million extension, according to sources, but he turned it down. He will become a restricted free agent this summer.

Who’s right? What’s right? Did Jennings really turn down $10 mil a year?

By picking a new agent right before the Feb. 21 trade deadline, Jennings has made an indication that he wasn’t quite happy with the status quo. Whether that means he wants more money in Milwaukee or a fresh start in a new city is unclear. Either way, there’s enough clamoring to suggest that a big decision looms in the coming week.

But please, please, please, pick your own flowers and leave me out of the love story until that decision is done and over with.
