Behind the Bucks Pass

Coming out of the All-Star Break, the Milwaukee Bucks have continued to struggle, losing three of four games, despite playing three at home.

Milwaukee Bucks Tweet of the Week

Now with Joel Embiid out for the rest of the season, it seems like the battle for Rookie of the Year will come down to Malcolm Brogdon of the Bucks and Dario Saric of the 76ers.

More from Bucks News

Both players are having very good seasons, and the President showed over the last stretch that he will do whatever it takes to help the Bucks win games.

His high-scoring output could easily continue as he jumped back into the starting lineup, and if Brogdon starts putting up 15 points plus per night for the rest of the season, the ROTY award might be his.

The President Guard (I’m still taking credit for this PG nickname) has been phenomenal for the Bucks and is looking like one of the most consistently solid players on the roster.

Now, where does he stand in this week’s Player Rankings? Let’s check it out!

Thon Maker C

Last week: 4 GP: 10.8 mins/3.5 pts/1.3 rebs/0.5 asts
Last rank: 7

Surely, Bucks fans want to see more of their 10th overall pick in the draft, so how about we make that happen? Maker was just 4-13 (30.8 percent) from the field on the week, but that is due to his inability to score inside the three-point arc. It is not that often that a player with Maker’s height is such a good shooter from NBA range in their first year, so things are looking up based on the rookie season.

Adding bulk is something that comes with time, but having the touch from three is not. Thon was 4-7 (57.1 percent) from three this week, and his season mark from deep has increased to a very respectable 51.3 percent. Release. The. Thon.

Khris Middleton SG

Last week: 3 GP: 27.7 mins/12.7 pts/5.0 rebs/2.3 asts
Last rank: 4

Khris Middleton might not be back to 100 percent yet on the court, but he is already flashing signs of returning to his great all-around self. After a 5-8 (62.5 percent) week from three, his deep shot is as good as ever, even if his shooting inside the arc is struggling. It will clearly take some time before Middleton is back to what he was, and that might not even happen this season, but it looks like it will eventually.

Khris is a vital part not only of this team for the rest of the season, but is still a focal point of the roster that the organization is building around superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
