Yes, I plugged my own tweet, but with the season coming to a close, Malcolm Brogdon is right at the top of the discussion for Rookie of the Year. After being selected in the second round of last summer’s draft, the President has been incredible for the Bucks. He has provided valuable stability at the point throughout the season and has not visibly hit the rookie wall.
Dario Saric is the other frontrunner for the award (given Joel Embiid’s injury will likely take him out of consideration for most people), and this is a look at the comparison between the two.
Although not shown in the picture, the Bucks hold a 38-35 record and are tied for fifth in the Eastern Conference while Saric’s Sixers are 28-47 and eliminated from the playoffs.
Before we get into the player rankings for this week, I should mention that due to Rashad Vaughn and Terrence Jones playing a combined four minutes, they are not in consideration for a spot.

Delly is still passing the ball well and knocking down some of his open looks, but it is clear that he is the back-up point guard for the rest of the season. He has been a little disappointing this season, but that is in part due to Brogdon’s outstanding play. The President has been so good that Delly has been put into a secondary role off the bench and he has struggled throughout the year.
Still, we have seen Outback Jesus excel as a back-up guard in the past (see Cleveland and Kyrie) so it might be best for Delly to come off the bench for the playoffs. Remember, of all players on the team, Matthew Dellavedova has some of the most playoff experience, and could see a minutes increase as the postseason gets underway.

This week was no different for Brogdon, as he showed his skills with an outstanding clutch performance in the final few minutes of the Bucks’ victory over the Celtics on Wednesday night.

I know that there is a large contingency of NBA fans who believe in Dario Saric as the Rookie of the Year this season, and that is okay. Saric is having a really good season, especially after his teammate Joel Embiid was shut down for the season due to injury. The ROTY race is obviously close this season, and Malcolm Brogdon has as good a case as anybody in the league.
The President Guard has been extremely consistent all season and is splashing home threes at over 40 percent. He is a constant part of the Bucks’ lineup and can be counted on for quality play, either through scoring, passing, defense, or a combination of all three. Uncle Malcolm has become a starter on a playoff caliber team, which is something that Saric cannot put on his résumé.
