Milwaukee Bucks Preseason Preview: Oct. 13 vs Detroit Pistons

A Piston to watch: Andre Drummond
After a coming out party during the 2015-16 NBA season that saw him average 16.2 points and 14.8 rebounds per game, Andre Drummond stagnated last year. Both in the short and long term, the Detroit Pistons need a revitalized Drummond to reach anything close to their ceiling.

As somber as Detroit seems about the concept these days, the max deal Drummond is operating on along with his age make him the Pistons’ de facto franchise player. The newly-turned 24-year-old might have his best years ahead of him, but he’ll have to take steps to prove it this season.
In a vacuum, one of, if not the, best rebounder(s) in the NBA should give Milwaukee fits. The Bucks have always struggled on both ends of the floor with cleaning up the glass, and they finished last season 29th in the league in rebounds per game.
That has bared true for most of Drummond’s career thus far. He averages 14 rebounds per game against Milwaukee, compared to 12.8 against all 30 teams. If he can grab a ton of rebounds and kick out extra possessions to those potent scorers Detroit has, this game could tip towards the Pistons’ side of the scale.
