Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 108-100 win over Boston Celtics
Playing hooky
Perhaps the most unanticipated performance on the night saw John Henson put in worthwhile minutes whenever he touched the floor.
With Thon Maker in foul trouble and Greg Monroe dealing with a very minor cut in the locker room, Henson was unexpectedly called on late in the first quarter and he delivered a steadying presence for the team throughout the night.
On top of that, Henson provided excellent rim protection and tried to make opposing players think twice about attacking the paint. For his efforts on the night, head coach Jason Kidd ran with Henson at the 5 to close out the game, which proved to be a rewarding decision on his part.
All in all, Henson scored five points, grabbed six rebounds, handed out two assists and had four blocks while being a +7 for the game.
As is the case with Henson at this point, there’s no way of knowing whether he’ll earn similar minutes or deliver similar results, especially under normal circumstances. Regardless, it was an encouraging performance from the 26-year-old, no matter what will be in store for him for the rest of the season.
