Gracin Bakumanya

Despite being a late addition to their training camp roster, the Herd acquired the rights to big man Gracin Bakumanya through this year’s expansion draft in the summer.

Only just 20 years old, the Congolese-born Bakumanya has already led an unconventional path to make it in the G League ranks as he stuck his hat in the ring, despite not catching much buzz in the lead up to the 2016 NBA Draft.

After going undrafted, Bakumanya landed with the Phoenix Suns in training camp and after being waived, he found a spot with their affiliate, the Northern Arizona Suns. In his lone season with the Suns last year, Bakumanya averaged 2.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in 10.4 minutes per game over 40 total appearances.

Still very raw, Bakumanya is very much a long-term project, but with the upside he possesses, it’s no surprise he caught the eye of the Herd and the Bucks organization as a whole.
