The Milwaukee Bucks will look to build on a strong start to preseason as they face the Minnesota Timberwolves in Iowa on Sunday.

Following a commanding performance against the Chicago Bulls in their preseason opener on Wednesday, the Milwaukee Bucks hit the road to face the Minnesota Timberwolves, albeit not in their usual venue at Target Center.

Instead, the game will take place in the mutually neighboring state of Iowa, at Hilton Coliseum, the home of the Iowa State University Cyclones.

Considering the proximity to both teams, that location may well have made sense for a variety of reasons for both organizations, but in particular it can be viewed as the latest push from the Timberwolves to expand their fanbase, considering their G League affiliate is also located in Iowa.

As for the more pressing matters on the court, the Bucks and Timberwolves will take to the court in Ames dealing with drastically contrasting situations.

Adjusting to life under new head coach Mike Budenholzer, the Bucks resembled a cohesive unit on the rise in their previous preseason outing, while in spite of recently coming to terms on an extension with Karl Anthony Towns, Jimmy Butler‘s uncertain future has cast an element of chaos into training camp for Minnesota so far.

The Timberwolves certainly have plenty of time to right the ship and resume normal service, but there’s every chance that this version of Minnesota will be very different to the one the Bucks end up facing in the regular season, and maybe even when the teams meet again in Milwaukee in another exhibition clash on October 12.

With all of that playing as the backdrop to Sunday night’s contest, let’s take a closer look at some of the elements worth keeping an eye on in the game itself.
