Milwaukee Bucks: Revisiting Eric Bledsoe’s 2019-20 season so far – Where Eric left off

Before the coronavirus pandemic forced the NBA to press pause on the 2019-20 season, Eric Bledsoe was enjoying another stellar season as a Buck.

That’s not to say that Bledsoe was getting the kind of credit that All-Star teammates Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton had received, nor was he necessarily being hailed in the manner of some of Milwaukee’s role players. But that’s because, importantly, Bledsoe has become incredibly consistent. At least in the regular season.

Year on year, Bledsoe’s stat line boasts an eerie similarity to what it looked like a year ago, with perhaps the most notable exception being the fact that the 30-year-old is averaging a couple of minutes less than what he was seeing last season.

Bledsoe has become an expert at simply meshing within the Bucks’ greater system, supporting his teammates with his efforts on both ends of the floor.

That was certainly highlighted a year ago when Bledsoe picked up All-Defensive First Team honors, and his outstanding point of attack defense should provide him with a great chance of finding himself in the All-Defensive mix again this year.

For a player who ended up in Milwaukee thanks in part to his very public discontent elsewhere, the importance of just how content and comfortable Bledsoe has become with the Bucks shouldn’t be underestimated.
