Milwaukee Bucks: 5 free agents to target with midlevel exception – Justin Holiday

The Bucks already have on Holiday on their roster, what’s the harm of adding another Holiday?Milwaukee certainly banked on that familial connection in adding to their roster last offseason with pairing the Antetokounmpo and Lopez brothers together.

Kidding aside, Justin Holiday has certainly molded himself into being a solid 3-and-D wing over his many stops around the league to this point in his seven-year NBA career.

Coming off his most efficient season with the Indiana Pacers last year, Holiday averaged 8.3 points per game, shot 40.5 percent from three and compiled a 58.5 true shooting percentage. Meanwhile, the elder Holiday’s ability to cover both wing spots on the floor would be useful around the defensive spine the Bucks have on their roster.

With Holiday, he offers the floor spacing and defensive versatility the Bucks will need around their cornerstones.

Now whether he can be had for the taxpayer MLE is something of a question at this point going into the start of free agency. Holiday will likely be in demand this offseason from all sorts of team and Ian Begley of SNY reported earlier this month the Knicks have debated to use cap space on signing him.

The Bucks can’t do such a thing to land Holiday, but perhaps the ability to play for a contender could win out in the end.
