Milwaukee Bucks: The 5 biggest questions entering 2020-21 season
What will be the Milwaukee Bucks’ bread and butter?
The Bucks’ system has been built in being able to get to the rim and spacing the floor to open the paint for the likes of Antetokounmpo and previously Eric Bledsoe to attack.
As Middleton took on more ball handling duties last year, we see more of an uptick in mid-range shots, which set up the career shooting year he enjoyed. Still, the Bucks’ shot profile largely remained the same year over year.
Holiday’s arrival largely won’t change that edict either, but he’s not the strongest shooter from three, though is capable of hitting shots off the dribble. Being able to get Holiday going and comfortable playing alongside his teammates and the Bucks’ cornerstones will be incredibly key to what the Bucks want to achieve this season.
Gaining chemistry with the likes of Antetokounmpo, Middleton and Brook Lopez will be huge for Holiday in finding his footing with the Bucks and beyond. And the various looks and wrinkles that the Bucks’ coaching staff installs to get Holiday comfortable in his new surroundings will be the big question in optimizing his fit with the Bucks.
With how much the Bucks’ roster turned over this offseason, it will be a long process in building up the time and familiarity that will be needed to lift this Bucks team to where they want to go. And Holiday adapts may be the biggest key in influencing what the Bucks’ strengths and weaknesses will be throughout the year.
