Milwaukee Bucks: 3 takeaways from 144-97 win over Miami Heat
Takeaway no. 1 – The Bucks continue to crash offensive glass
It played a very small part in their overall demolishing of the Heat, but the Bucks’ proclivity to crash the offensive glass has been a steady trend to their 2020-21 run so far.
After having largely abandoned the offensive glass the last couple of seasons, the Bucks have pulled down double-digit offensive rebounds in each of their four games this year. And by pulling down 10 offensive boards Tuesday night, they converted 17 second chance points in the process.
By pulling down one-third of their misses on the offensive end, the Bucks’ energy and nose for the ball shined throughout their rout of the Heat. And it was interesting to see Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer turn to Thanasis Antetokounmpo to give the Bucks a boost of energy in this regard as well.
Given how much of a focal point that the Bucks have made of this in training camp and preseason, we’ll see how much their offensive rebounding will add to their dominance on the glass. And hopefully, the Bucks can maintain their defensive shape and fundamentals in the process.
The Bucks will be back at it Wednesday night when they take on the Miami Heat once again for a 6:30 p.m. central time tip off.
