Rodney Hood could earn 15-20 rotational minutes in his return from injury and first season with the Milwaukee Bucks

Rodney Hood was brought in by Milwaukee during the offseason on a one-year deal. Hood has spent his time in the NBA as a journeyman, playing in Utah, Cleveland, and Portland. The 28-year old has struggled in his recent years with injury. In fact, he will be coming to Milwaukee after dealing with a plethora of injuries in the 2020-21 season. While the injuries are a concern, his potential on the offensive end makes him an intriguing player for Milwaukee.

Hood, when healthy, has been dynamic on the offensive end. His scoring is certainly his main draw, as he has averaged 11.4 points in his career. Hood has posted a career shooting percentage of 42.2 percent. Hood’s abilities as a spot-up shooter will be something to watch as he begins his tenure in Milwaukee. While Hood has averaged over 20 minutes with some teams, he may see less of a workload due to the potential injury risks. Furthermore, Hood will likely be backing up Khris Middleton, a player who certainly commands a hefty workload.

If he stays healthy, Hood could be a key contributor to Milwaukee due to his offensive capabilities. Despite limitations on the defensive end, Hood will be surrounded by solid defenders in Milwaukee’s second unit, taking some of the defensive workloads away from the vet. While question marks surround Hood due to his health, his potential alone could lead to seeing around 15-20 rotational minutes in the coming season.

Surely, Hood will be a player to watch in the 2021-22 season as he looks to bounce back from a string of injuries. If healthy, Hood will be an important piece in Milwaukee’s second unit.
