The Bucks will trade either O.J. Mayo or Brandon Knight
Of course, this prediction is mostly situational, but it’s hard to picture both Mayo and Knight being in the Bucks future. If Milwaukee believes he’s part of the future, then they will extend him some time before the end of the month. Or else there is a good chance that he walks through restricted free agency.
If the Bucks lock him up long-term, and O.J. Mayo has success this season, John Hammond will find a way to get rid of his contract.
In all reality, moving 8 million dollars isn’t as hard as it seems. The hard part will be convincing teams that his contract is worth it. Just a short glance on the ESPN NBA Trade Machine also reminds you that there are not a lot of matches for his services.
I still think someone in contention that is desperate enough, will take a flyer on picking up Mayo by either giving up a second round pick or some young talent at a position they have a lot of depth at.
