Assertive Aggression

One of the things that makes great slam dunks so fascinating is the explosive burst of energy it takes to execute them. It’s the reason why nothing quite energizes an NBA crowd like a big time jam. There’s something almost primal about the aggression and force with which the best dunkers throw down with.

Giannis has demonstrated his power on the way to the rim on numerous occasions during his NBA career (just ask Chris Bosh and Carmelo Anthony), and so it should definitely be a focus of his routine when the big night arrives.

Who best to take inspiration from in that case, than the Human Highlight Reel himself, Dominique Wilkins.

Wilkins was one of the greatest dunkers ever, best illustrated by his Dunk Contest duals with Michael Jordan, and this one from the 1985 contest highlights just how powerful he was.
