Orlando Magic – Thursday, January 29th (Amway Center, Orlando)
The Orlando Magic aren’t a great team this season (although they do have some very intriguing young players), but they sure seemed like it the first time these two teams matched up. The Magic schooled Milwaukee 101-85 in Orlando earlier this season.
This game was also in Orlando, but the result was essentially the exact opposite. The end of Thursday’s game against the Magic is summed up pretty well by the picture above: Milwaukee managed to hold off the Magic despite a late run by Orlando. Despite getting outscored by ten points in the final quarter the Bucks still managed to pull off a 115-110 win.
The entire Bucks team played very well in this game, which is a great sign for the Bucks possibly winning a few games in the postseason. Each starter scored at least ten points, although Jerryd Bayless led the team in scoring off the bench with 19. Khris Middleton and Jared Dudley each contributed 17 points as well.
Some other notable stats from this game include: John Henson with a nice twelve point, ten rebound double-double, Kenyon Martin totaling three steals and two blocks in a stellar defensive performance off of the bench, and Brandon Knight totaling nine assists and 16 points in a great offensive game for the young point guard.
I knew the Bucks would have a good chance at dispatching the Magic. But I figured the Bucks’ next opponent would be a big challenge for the young team. After all, hell hath no fury like a Lillard scorned.
