It’s that time of year again. The NBA Trade Deadline is edging ever closer, and over the next couple of weeks be prepared for trade rumors to spread like wildfire around the league.
So, without further ado, lets make sure that Milwaukee Bucks general manager John Hammond has adequate levels of supplies, and we’ll batten down the war-room until all business has been attended to!
In all seriousness, the Bucks are not the most likely team to be caught doing business over the next two weeks. That should be cause for rejoicing amongst Milwaukee fans too.
The simple reason why the Bucks wouldn’t be expected to be active is that they’re actually good already, and also far ahead of the developmental curve most anticipated the team to follow.
As good as Milwaukee currently are, they’re not in a place where they are going to make rash decisions to try and push themselves over the edge, and they shouldn’t be in a spot like that for a number of years.
The Bucks have a roster filled with plenty of talent, most of which is young, and extremely valuable from a contract perspective. With that in mind, it doesn’t mean that other team’s GMs won’t call the Bucks front office to propose potential deals.
Who knows, maybe something will come up that Milwaukee feel is worthwhile too.
With that in mind, it would be remiss of us not to consider some of the players who could potentially be up for grabs at the deadline.
In our coverage of the deadline, we’ll get to looking at potential guard and wing options at a later date, but for now, lets start with the Bucks biggest need.
That of course is size, power and rebounding. In other words, the power forward and center positions. Although Zaza Pachulia and John Henson have battled manfully up front all season, there’s little doubt that the Bucks would benefit from more help in that department, particularly considering the ongoing Larry Sanders fiasco.
So who should they consider?
I’ve shortlisted a handful of options who could potentially be available, all of whom have skill sets that could help Milwaukee. Some are expensive gambles, while others are more in keeping with the current tone of the rebuilding process.
Why not take a look and see for yourself?
