Brook Lopez

The Brooklyn Nets seem destined to make a trade of some sort, it’s more a matter of who and when.

Amongst the leading contenders has to be Brook Lopez, who has according to reports already led the Nets to hold discussions with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Charlotte Hornets over the past few weeks.

Brook Lopez is a former All-Star and a highly skilled center, but so far this season he hasn’t really been seeing eye to eye with Brooklyn’s new coach Lionel Hollins. So much so that Hollins has even publicly questioned Lopez’s effort earlier in the season.

Following a particularly rough matchup against Nikola Vucevic and the Orlando Magic, Hollins remarked:

"I don’t want to talk about Brook right now. I don’t want to talk about any individuals. I want to talk about the game and our effort. I hear what you’re asking, I just don’t want to go there right now. It’s not a good time for me."

Not unlike Nikola Pekovic, Lopez comes with his own downsides in terms of injuries and contract, but nobody would know that better than coach Kidd.

Kidd worked with Lopez in Brooklyn last season, and has already shown a willingness to reunite with people he has previously worked with in the additions of Kenyon Martin and Jorge Gutierrez.

One question mark over the deal would be the rumors that Kidd tried to trade Lopez for Larry Sanders before he joined up with Milwaukee, but hey, maybe J-Kidd was just trying to get the Bucks ahead of the curve!

What might it take for a deal to go down?
