There I was, just sitting in my history class learning about the first Thanksgiving just like any other day in my life. Me being a completely iPhone-obsessed college student, I go to check my phone and see if KG really went back to the Timberwolves (he did) when I see that my phone has officially blown up.

I had messages on every social media site I frequent (and a few I don’t), comments, snapchats, text messages, everything. At this point my professor could’ve said that Squanto was an alien, I didn’t care anymore. I scrolled through profanity and exclamation marks to find a few details. Here’s what I read, with my reactions in parentheses.

“Bledsoe. Please be Bledsoe” (Bledsoe? Are the Suns going from an all point guard team to a no point guard team?)

“Ennis!” (Ennis?! What?)

“Who? What? What’s happening??” (which is pretty much where I was at too)

“Brandon’s gone” (WHAT?! I wanted Kanter, but NOT LIKE THIS)

Then I finally got to my notification from NBA Game Time and found out what happened. The Milwaukee Bucks traded Brandon Knight and Kendall Marshall to the Phoenix Suns as part of a three-team deal that included the Bucks receiving Tyler Ennis, Miles Plumlee and Michael Carter-Williams.

Now that it’s been a little while and I can process what’s happened, I think I like this trade. Let’s not forget I was one of the biggest Brandon Knight fans in Milwaukee. Knight was my favorite Buck and I truly feel like he was a huge part of the team’s success this season.

And everybody loves K-Butter (who might get waived by Phoenix and could potentially be a Buck again, who knows?). But the return on this trade is pretty damn nice for what the Bucks gave up.

MCDub (aka Michael Carter-Williams) is a young point guard who I think will blossom under Kidd in Milwaukee. He’s a pass first point guard and I think Khris Middleton is going to love him.

Remember, in the post-Knight 2015 Milwaukee Bucks Middleton will probably be relied on as a main scorer for the Bucks. MCDub can feed him the ball, and Bucks fans know that Khris can splash home threes and mid-range twos all day long.

Miles Plumlee (still working on a nickname) is huge. He’s also young and a skilled rebounder and defender. As I noted in this piece about targeting Enes Kanter, the Bucks needed somebody who is huge, young and can defend and rebound.

Plumlee hasn’t had any crazy statistical seasons thus far in his career, but did average a fairly good 8/8 (points/rebounds) last season when he started 79 games for the Suns. He still only played about 25 minutes per game even when he was starting though. I hope to see him start at center soon for Milwaukee, and get a chance to show what he can do in that role here in Milwaukee.

Tyler Ennis is an even-younger point guard who has only played in seven games this season. That’s actually a remarkable accomplishment considering he was on the Phoenix Suns, who were formerly the king of having way too many point guards. It’s hard to get minutes at the one when you’re a rookie and you have Bledsoe, Dragic and Thomas ahead of you on the depth chart.

He’s very intriguing because nobody really knows what he’s capable of in the NBA. The Bucks will probably find out soon though seeing as Knight, Marshall and JG13 (who couldn’t be re-signed due to roster space to make the trade happen) are all now gone.

Ennis, Carter-Williams and Jerryd Bayless are now Milwaukee’s three point guards.
