Reactions: The Good

  • Zaza Pachulia lives! After three weeks of horrendous, awful play, Zaza returned to form against the Warriors. He started the game on fire scoring six points and grabbing six rebounds in the game’s first six minutes. He finished with thirteen points and eleven rebounds in 25 minutes. His return to form was emphasized by his four assists. We’ve been hard on Zaza lately, deservedly so. But his big performance against the league’s best team will go a long way in rebuilding our trust in him.

Prior to tonight the Bucks played with a noticeable lack of passion post-trade. The lackadaisical effort was only matched by their awful shooting and worse defense. Not tonight. Here’s an example of the energy we saw the Bucks play with all night.

  • The Bucks ravaged the Warriors off the glass. Yes, you read that right. The Bucks pulled in 47 rebounds to the Warrior’s 34, including 16 Buck’s offensive rebounds to only 4 from the Warriors. Four. You can count it on one hand. For a team that rebounds as poorly as the Bucks do (26th in the league) it was impressive to see them bully the mighty Warriors (5th in the league). The rebounding alone gave the Bucks a fighting chance and was a nice change of pace from the mauling they endure on the glass night in and night out.
