  • The game saw a stretch with Ilyasova playing the center position in the Buck’s small-ball lineup. When playing small-ball the idea is to generate offense through steals and shooting. The downside is that Ersan Ilyasova never plays center and can’t be expected to defend the rim the way Henson or Pachulia can. Why not play Plumlee at the five and Ilyasova at the four? It was a desperate move from Kidd, and failed to pay dividends.
  • We saw more of the Bayless and Ennis back-court against the Warriors. Like last night the two failed to mesh on the perimeter. Ennis and Bayless both play their best basketball with the ball in their hands–not handing around on the wing waiting around for a potential pass. With Mayo out with a sore hamstring you understand that Kidd has limited options at the guard position–but that doesn’t make the Ennis/ Bayless rotation any more effective.
