Adam: John Wall has undoubtedly grown into being one of the league’s best point guards, yet he still has blips that lead you to question his consistency. Do you feel that’s still something he needs to work on, or is he always going to be a player with a streaky side to his game?
Ben: Wall came into the league with a completely broken jump shot. As many other pundits have pointed out, he played at one speed and was not necessarily great at running his team. Now that he’s been in the league for a long time, experienced the playoffs, and has veteran players around him, we saw him take major steps forward in the past few seasons.
For Wall to become an MVP caliber talent, and he’s not too far away from it, he needs to continue improving his outside shot. Wall added a floater to his game this season and that’s helped him score when teams clog up the paint.
Wall has become an elite distributor and that’s something he’s consistently done this season. While his jump shot isn’t always falling, I don’t think we should worry about Wall’s consistency. He’s one of the hardest working players in the league and consistency will come with time.
