He might just be the NBA’s best floor general right now, but perhaps even more valuable is the competitive edge he carries with him. Like everybody on this list, Paul gets here as a by-product of being an outstanding player on both ends of the floor.
Paul is second in the league in points created by assists per game, he’s first in terms of secondary assists, and then on the opposite end of the floor he’s ranked seventh in steals.
He’s widely recognized for how great he is, yet at the same time, he rarely gets the credit he deserves. Where would the New Orleans Hornets ever have been without Chris Paul? Where would the Clippers be without him now? Where would the Lakers have gone if the trade that never happened had actually happened? Discussions like that say all that needs to be said about the player that Paul is.
