There are so many ways of describing just how phenomenal Anthony Davis is going to be during his career, and already is, but there’s none more effective than looking at the truly mind-blowing numbers he’s already putting up in just his third season in the NBA.
Davis is tracking for a Player Efficiency Rating (PER) of 31.4 this season, which will place him in truly historic company. Only Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan and LeBron James have achieved seasons that exceeded that mark, and Davis looks set to slot in with the eighth best season of All-Time in that particular statistical category.
Davis may have his work cut out to pull his Pelicans into the Playoffs this season, but the rest of the NBA better enjoy it while it lasts, as once Davis gets to the Playoffs it’ll only get tougher to make it out of the West.
