66. . SF. Kansas. Kelly Oubre. 13. player

What The Experts Say:

"Oubre has the look of an NBA wing — the height (though needing to fill out and get stronger), the athleticism, the ability to play in transition and above the rim. – Scott Howard-Cooper, NBA.com"

What The Player Says:

"Whoever calls my name on draft night, I’m going to help them win a championship and give them the best shot. – Kelly Oubre"

What BTBP Says:

Oubre has the length and athleticism to get out on a floor in the NBA straight away, but some of his fundamentals still need work.

His wingspan will give him the chance to be a defensive pest, his shooting stroke is solid and could improve, but Oubre is still very young and needs a chance to make his own mistakes and then be taught how to learn from them.

This makes Phoenix a nice fit for the former Kansas Jayhawk. The Suns already have their backcourt pretty well tied down with Eric Bledsoe, and Brandon Knight who the team is expected to bring back this summer.

On the wing, Phoenix has good role players like T.J. Warren, P.J. Tucker and Marcus Morris who can hold the spot down while Oubre hones his talents, but nobody talented enough to truly get in the way of the 19-year-old getting a fair shot here.

Rollin J. Mason over at SB Nation’s Bright Side of the Sun spoke about Oubre’s fit and the challenges that he could face:

"Out of the draftees projected in the Suns’ range, Oubre might be the most gifted as well as the least polished. While he isn’t as much a long-term project as an Archie Goodwin, he’ll probably need more time to adjust than a T.J. Warren. This would be a swing-for-the-fences pick, but it’s rare for a player with these kinds of physical tools to be available in the bog of the late-lottery."
