#7. Dallas Mavericks – 12/7/2014, American Airlines Center
It’s great having an abundance of skill, but if a player is not only going to be a superstar in the NBA, but a guy who helps his team to win, the personality of the player is just as important.
In this road trip to Dallas to face the Mavericks only just over a week before his season would end, Parker showed the type of grit and hunger needed to succeed at the highest level of the game.
Watch the play unfold. O.J. Mayo (characteristically) puts up a low percentage pushed leaner/floater from around the free throw line, and at the point of release, Jabari is out of the frame, nowhere to be seen.
Then a determined Parker, already anticipating the miss, charges in from behind Dirk Nowitzki to get to the loose ball before Tyson Chandler, one of the league’s biggest and best rebounders, even knows what’s hit him.
A tidy lay-in, and an easy two points. Thanks, Jabari!
