Adam McGee: After a record-breaking season that caught many off-guard last year, what do you see as realistic expectations for the Atlanta Hawks this year? What will the players be aiming for?
Andrew Snyder: I think the players should have loftier expectations than the fans. They probably believe they can win 60 games, get back to the Eastern Conference Finals and attempt to get a little revenge on LeBron and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
That is the mentality that successful professional athletes need to have and I expect the Hawks to have that mentality, especially given how well they played for the majority of last season.
However, fans should temper their expectations. Some regression has to be expected. DeMarre Carroll is in Toronto, Kyle Korver is coming off of two surgeries and following up a 60 win with another 60 win season is difficult even without adversity.
That being said, this is still a talented team. I’d expect somewhere between 52-57 wins and a top four seed in the Eastern Conference.
