AM: What do you think of the Bucks’ off-season? Do you think the addition of Greg Monroe (a player often linked with the Hawks) will transform their fortunes, or alter their style?

AS: I love what the Bucks have done this offseason and even last season at the trade deadline.

At first ditching Brandon Knight for Michael Carter-Williams caught me off guard, but I get it. They knew they weren’t going to sign Knight long term, so they figured they would gamble on a young player that was flawed, but clearly talented.

The moves they have made this offseason have also been great. Greivis Vazquez is a wily vet that can bring scoring off the bench and he serves as “crunch-time” insurance for MCW in case that jumper stays broken.

Then there’s Greg Monroe. That dude is just a beast in the paint. His defense may not be as good as some thought it would be when he was coming into the league, but he won’t hurt the Bucks in that department. Their offense seemed to get stuck in the mud at times last season. Monroe gives them a guy that be a “go-to-scorer” and a safety valve when the offense breaks down.

Chris Copeland may not be a factor, but it’s a no risk signing. If he makes threes then great! If he doesn’t he can hang out on the bench and talk about his awesome hair.

The core of Middleton, Giannis, Jabari Parker and Monroe is exciting and it will be fun to watch them grow together as they try and move up the Eastern Conference ladder.
