Adam McGee: What do you feel the Celtics’ players and fans are looking to achieve this season? What would represent realistic and significant progress?

Joshua Bateman: For the first time in a while I think both Celtics players and fans have serious expectations of making the playoffs. After making a surprising appearance last season the Celtics should be much improved and to see them go backwards would be very disappointing.

Unfortunately, there cannot be much more than the playoffs yet. If the Celtics surprise again and manage to win the division then they may get a playoff series win, but they are still not at a point where they can contend for a championship.

I also believe that because of how improved the east is, simply making the playoffs is quite a bit of progress. Both Chris Bosh and Paul George are back and there are a lot of young and developing teams that will make sure no sub .500 team will be making the playoffs again.
