AM: With the strong base that Brad Stevens has built over the last couple of seasons, how long is it before the current rebuild has to step up a couple of levels just to ensure that he sticks around for the long run?

JB: As it stands now, I think all the Celtics have to do is continue on their path and Stevens will be safe. They have so many prospects and picks that they still have no where to go but up. The only way that Stevens’ long term role with the team may be in jeopardy is if they start to regress.

The Celtics are still in the beginning stages of their rebuild and all their young players will need at least 2-3 years to develop before Stevens will have to worry about losing his job because of underachieving.

Even if the Celtics take a step back and miss the playoffs this year Stevens has made too much progress and they have enough prospers and picks that he will have many opportunities to take this team to the next level before his current contract is up.
