#2 Worst Move: Trading Andrew Bogut For Monta Ellis

Do you know what’s better than one shoot-first, ball-hungry point guard?

Two shoot-first, ball-hungry point guards.

That’s exactly what John Hammond brought the Bucks when he traded fan-favorite Andrew Bogut and Steven Jackson (a HUGE disaster in his own right) to the Warriors for Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh, and Kwame Brown.

The pairing of Brandon Jennings and Ellis was supposed to create one of the NBA’s more dangerous back-courts. Instead, the two guards never really meshed together; and the Bucks were at a size disadvantage night in and night out.

The pair would produce one playoff appearance together (2012-13), a series that saw them get annihilated by the LeBron James’ Miami Heat 4-0.

Both guards were shipped away from Milwaukee following the season, officially ending the Brandon Jennings/ Monta Ellis era.

Meanwhile, in California, Andrew Bogut anchors the NBA champion Golden State Warriors.

At least the trade worked out for someone.
