- Rashad Vaughn has shown that he has the chance to be much more than a role player for this team. I can see him becoming a Klay Thompson-type player. Effective from anywhere on the floor, with a knack for draining threes. Aside from three-point shooting, Vaughn has shown great ability around the rim, hitting all four of his attempts near the basket Tuesday night. I understand it’s only pre-season, but I don’t care. He’s the real deal.
- #77 seems to be fitting Johnny O’Bryant just fine. He’s starting to play within himself, instead of settling for mid-range jumpers and awkward post moves. He looks quicker, more assertive, and much, much stronger in the paint. He finished with 10 points and eight rebounds in a very strong effort.
John Henson showed exactly what he’s capable of. Now, the question is whether he can do it on a consistent basis. The fourth-year center scored 16 points (in 20 minutes) against the Cavs. That’s nice. If Milwaukee can get 8-12 points a night from the big guy they will do well. Henson’s calling card has always been his defensive ability. He recorded four blocks Tuesday night, including this gem.
- Great effort by the Milwaukee big men on the glass. Monroe had 13 boards, while Henson and O’Bryant collected 10 and eight, respectively. Last season it was a rarity for the Bucks to out-rebound anyone, but they dominated the Cavs in the paint, out-rebounding Cleveland 52-39.
