Reactions: The Good

  • They don’t call him the “Greek Freak” for nothing. Giannis Antetokounmpo was a dominant force on both sides of the ball. He shot well above efficiency (8-12) while using his length to secure seven rebounds and three rejections. It’s a shame that he will miss the season opener due to an NBA-imposed suspension; but that just means you can expect an even more fired up version of the Bucks most exciting play-maker when the Wizards roll into town on the 30th.
  • Here he is doing Giannis things.
  • The Bucks committed just 22 fouls–easily their lowest total of the preseason. That’s an encouraging number. The Bucks play a swarming brand of defense. One that relies on switches and playing with your hands up. When either of those things don’t happen it blows up the entire scheme. They were pretty good about that tonight. The 112 allowed points is too many, sure, but the T-Wolves were making jumpers left and right…that’s just basketball.
  • What’s a good pre-season game without a Johnny O’Bryant sighting? JOB made the most of his 15 minutes, playing the entire fourth quarter and looking downright sprightly while doing it. That’s a description I wouldn’t have ever expected to apply to the second year forward, but here we are. He’s going to be a boon coming off the bench, you’ll see. Especially if that jumper stays smooth into the regular season. Ring it up, big man.
