Is MCW the Bucks’ Point Guard of the Future?

Even with Greg Monroe only committed for a minimum of two years, the Bucks arguably have almost every position locked down for the foreseeable future.

The only position that could see some turnover is at point guard.

Even with the progress that we saw from Michael Carter-Williams once he arrived to Milwaukee, he still has much to improve, with the biggest area being his perimeter shooting.

But it’s important to remember he has yet to play with the true lineup the Bucks have assembled and performed well as a starter last year with the Bucks, as Brewhoop’s Frank Madden points out:

There were many factors that contributed to that stat of course, but with a better starting lineup for the next couple of years, MCW could build upon that, and then some, as the young lineup continues to grow.

The Bucks have made some moves, like the Greivis Vasquez trade, for a short-term solution, just in case things don’t work out or the team doesn’t see enough improvement with MCW.

But now with a full off-season and a training camp under his belt to fully immerse himself into the team’s system and locker room, this season is for Carter-Williams to silence his critics and show that he’s the Bucks point guard of the future.
