Reactions: The Good

  • Greg Monroe will be just as big of a difference maker offensively as everyone had hoped he would be. His offensive game gives a mixture of brute force and polish that will be hard for most opponents to contain. His work on the offensive glass was particularly encouraging considering that the Bucks are a team who many experts expect to miss a lot of shots this season.
  • Greivis Vasquez will have no problem leading the second unit, the question for the Bucks is going to be more about what help he gets from those around them. Vasquez’s 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists highlight that there are nights where the Venezuelan could offer a legitimate triple-double threat, but on a more regular basis his wise and savvy play is at least guaranteed.
  • The rookies are good! In fact, they seem ready to contribute right away. This is something that most Bucks fans had hoped for all summer long, but now having had our first taste of real NBA action, it feels like something we can state with greater conviction. Vaughn is taking to the pros like a duck to water, and his offense is truly menacing, while Inglis’ own brand of all-round strong play will be a valuable addition to the squad too.
