Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters

Michael Carter-Williams, D

12 Points | 5-10 FG | 0-2 FT | 1 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

John Wall made MCW look pretty mediocre all night. When MCW wasn’t giving up layups to the Wizard’s superstar PG, he was throwing away turnovers and contributing very little to the offensive cause. He did hit a couple threes however, so that’s kind of cool.

Khris Middleton, B

14 Points| 6-12 FG | 0-0 FT | 2 REB | 0 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |

With the way he’s been shooting lately I’ll happily take a 50% performance. There was a stretch midway through the game where it felt like he missed four or five in a row, so the consistency isn’t quite there right now. But shooting at efficiency on a terrible overall offensive night has to be a positive.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, D-

9 Points | 3-13 FG | 3-6 FT | 5 REB | 7 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK |

You just don’t see Giannis miss many easy looks at the rim. He missed a true gimme in the third quarter, with a chance to get the Bucks back to within six. But he missed it and the Wizards blew the game wide open shortly after. It almost looks like the league is catching on to the spin moves that he uses in the paint. John Wall even guessed the move on one such play, stopping it cold.

Jeryyd Bayless, B

13 Points | 5-11 FG | 0-0 FT | 6 REB | 3 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |

He’s playing good basketball right now. Whenever the Bucks go on one of their rare three point barrages you can almost be certain that he’s a part of it. He kept up the solid shooting in Washington, burying 3-6 attempts from behind the arc. He still tends to take ill-advised early shot clock jumpers, but at this stage you just accept that as part of his game.

Greg Monroe, D-

4 Points| 1-6 FG | 2-4 FT | 5 REB | 4 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK |

It was bound to happen sooner or later, he’s only human after all. At least now we now what the Bucks look like when they get next to nothing from Monroe. Like Giannis, he missed a ton of easy looks at the rim. You know, the ones that make you jump off the couch and yell “Why not dunk it?” He seems to specialize in those. Just throw it down big man.
